Beloved GSA Network!
Alongside change, one thing still rings true: love is an action.
We’re not the first generation charged with loving ourselves in spite of the war on our personhood. Young queer people in each generation continue to experiment with how love, through action, regenerates life in countless ways. From Compton’s Cafeteria Riots to the founding of STAR, to the students organizing in Minneapolis and Los Angeles, real-life examples of human intervention help ground us in our determination to build real-life community. After a decade of government neglect during the AIDS/HIV epidemic in the 1980s, queer and trans people refused to give up on living and loving in the light. They taught us that an army of lovers cannot lose. We have no choice but to remember this lesson as the President of the United States plays chicken with trans youth. What power do we reclaim when we choose to remember the power of loving who we love?
In this critical moment, can an army of lovers take on authoritarianism? We must.
Can an army of lovers hold off mass displacement of communities? We must.
February and Spring remind us of the blooming life from the winter cold. We honor the plight and leadership of Black freedom movements. Black History & Futures Month shows us how to bloom in the name of past, present, and future generations. Despite the state's tentacles evolving, the Black radical tradition calls us to protect and support one another. Black History & Futures Month is a call to love through action and connection.
As the President of the United States tries to prevent gender, the paradox is to give yourself permission to remember your beloved truth. Miss Major told young people to BE MAJOR!!! So GSAs, BE MAJOR!!! Under authoritarianism, every action of love feels like a risk when we’re the target. But as an army of lovers, don't stop showing up for yourself, for your neighbors, for your TQ2S+ network across the country.

We build GSA clubs in the name of love, belonging, and people power. This month is packed with opportunities to connect with fellow clubs and youth leaders across the country and resource your unique club projects. In this edition of STARDIAL, you will find a special invitation to our monthly GSAs Unite! meeting and Day for Racial Justice, re-launch of Youth Freedom Fund, and updates from GSA clubs in Texas to the Supreme Court in Washington D.C.
We are so proud to share: 995 GSA clubs are currently registered within our national network and have made the commitment to actualizing racial and gender justice. Big shout-out to our mighty, growing network!
